The Twin Cone Table takes the sculptural cone pedestal and doubles it under a rectangular top. Two solid cones in a dark walnut tone sit under the top's long axis, each about a quarter of the length in from the ends, so the top is supported evenly and the corners stay firm under leaning elbows.
The top is a charcoal fine-textured surface in a thin timber band with rounded corners. Dark tops are the practical choice in steak rooms and wine bars: red wine, jus and coffee don't show the way they do on white stone, and the matte texture hides fingerprints. We supply the surface in sintered stone or high-pressure laminate, stated on the drawing.
The cones are broad at the floor, so on the long sides they sit back from the chairs, but they do occupy the space at the table ends. For that reason we draw the Twin Cone as a four- or six-top with seating on the long sides, not at the heads.
Internal steel plates and threaded inserts fix the top to both cones, and concealed glides level each one independently.
