A deep forest green with pale veins running across it, held in a matte bronze band: the Walnut Cross Forest Table has the darkest, richest top of the square group. The matte metal edge keeps the look soft rather than shiny.
The base is made from two walnut panels crossed at right angles, each flaring wider at the foot and narrowing under the top, so from above the four feet make a cross. The panels give a sculptural, hand-carved feel and add stability on all four sides. Walnut and bronze is a long-lived pairing that ages well in warm light.
It is made for steak houses, hotel grills and cigar-room dining where dark, rich surfaces are the style. The green can be exchanged for other deep slab colours, and the wood stain and bronze tone are open to adjustment.
The top is 23⅝ × 23⅝ in (60 × 60 cm) and 29½ in (75 cm) high, so it is a proper dining table for two rather than a coffee table. A pair set edge to edge makes a four-top; larger and round tops are available on request.
