Shown in front of a curved leather sofa on a patterned rug, this coffee table pairs a thick round cream top with a base of dark cylinders laid crosswise at the floor. The heavy rounded edge reads soft, and the dark cylinders almost vanish in low light, so the top appears to hover.
Beside it, a smaller side table reverses the colors: a black round top with a raised tray rim on a cream cone that widens to the floor. The rim keeps glasses and coasters from sliding off when guests reach across.
Specifying the pair
- Top: a cream stone-look surface such as sintered stone or solid surface, with a thick rounded edge. Sintered stone handles wine and heat; solid surface can be repaired invisibly after scratches.
- Base: the crossed cylinders are steel or timber shells in a dark matte finish, with a felt or nylon glide under each contact point.
- Side table: the cone is matched to the cream of the main top; the tray top is lacquered.
The coffee table is about Ø 35½ in (90 cm) at 14–16 in (35–40 cm) high; the side table is about Ø 18 in (45 cm) at sofa-arm height. Colors and sizes are made to order.
