Small tables in a lounge are seen from above and from every side, so they can carry more sculpture than a dining table. This one rises from a round green stone foot on a polished brass stem that bends in a single S-curve before meeting the top. The green stone has dark mineral flecks and a slight shimmer, finished with a softly rounded edge.
Construction and balance
An off-center stem only works if the foot is heavy. Here the foot is a stone disc rather than metal, which puts the mass at floor level and keeps the top level under a drink and an elbow. The brass stem is fixed through the disc and into a plate under the top.
Where it goes
- Beside lounge chairs and sofas in hotel lobbies and cocktail bars.
- As a drinks perch in private dining anterooms.
This is a side table, not a dining surface: keep it to drinks and small plates. Natural stone needs sealing and pH-neutral cleaning; a green stone-look sintered stone can be specified for heavier use. Stone, top diameter, height and brass finish (polished, brushed or dark bronze) are made to order.
