The round café table of every Paris pavement, built for commercial service. A dark, finely textured surface is inset in a timber band with a rounded edge, so the surface hides the day's coffee rings while the timber takes the knocks.
The base is the classic cast-iron pedestal: a turned column with rings and fluting, a decorated collar, and four arms ending in scrolled, sculpted feet. Cast iron gives this table its weight; a two-top on this base stays put when a loaded tray lands on one side.
Practical notes
- Weight: cast iron is heavy, which is the point. Plan where tables live; this is not the base for rooms cleared every night.
- Glides: each foot takes a levelling glide; on old tiles, set them at installation.
- Finish: the base is powder-coated black, with touch-up paint supplied for scuffs.
Sizes
Ø 24 in (60 cm) is the true bistro two-top; Ø 28–30 in (70–76 cm) gives room for two full plates. The same base is available at counter height with a heavier footprint.
The inset can be sintered stone or high-pressure laminate; band timber and tone are matched to your sample.
