The Fluted Column Walnut Table borrows the vertical grooves of a classical column and turns them into a table base. Each pedestal is a solid timber column with fine flutes running its full height, finished in a walnut tone and landing on a black steel disc foot.
The flutes do something practical: they break up the column visually so even a sturdy base looks slender, and they hide the small scuffs that shoes leave on any pedestal. The steel disc at the foot adds weight where it counts and protects the timber from mop water.
Three configurations share the design: a square two-top on one column, a round top on one column, and a rectangle on two columns with independent discs. The top is wood or wood veneer in a walnut tone with a softened edge, finished in a hard commercial lacquer that resists water rings and daily sanitiser wipes.
The fluted columns also partner well with stone. Where a designer wants the fluting under a sintered stone top, we draw the same base with a stone top of matching size.
